Nikki's story

For Nikki.

A teacher, coach, runner, singer, wife, mother, and friend whose faith showed up in how she cared for people.

Her life and legacy

A life built around students.

Nikki Cozzi-Carso spent ten years teaching eighth grade at Holy Family Catholic Academy after beginning her career in Chicago Public Schools. She also coached cross-country, joined mission trips through St. James Youth Ministry, and brought people together through music, running, and friendship.

After Nikki died from pancreatic cancer in 2020, her family and friends established a scholarship in her honor. The fund helps students whose families need tuition assistance attend local Catholic schools.

The annual 5K fits the life Nikki lived. It is active, open to families, grounded in faith, and centered on giving young people a real opportunity. Every registration and donation helps keep that work going.
